Research Analysts

An analyst’s primary responsibility is to understand, communicate, and write reports on the companies they are covering. Analysts communicate their opinion of their research to management, investment team members, or potential clients typically summarizing with a “buy”, “sell”, “hold”, etc. opinion. IMR understands the skills sets needed from a top performing analyst including:

  • Ability to study the public records of companies
  • Relationships developed with management and research organizations
  • Ability to assess complex technical data
  • Ability to evaluate annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Q filings
  • Ability to analyze financial data, spot trends, and develop forcasts
  • Ability to make buy and/or sell decisions?
  • Ability to stay on top of new regulations that may affect the industry
  • Ability to monitor the economy to determine its effect on earnings
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to management, prospects and clients
