Portfolio Managers

Portfolio managers are responsible for the profitable management of an investment portfolio. PM’s must choose, monitor, and allocate the investments appropriately based on the philosophy and requirements of the investment strategy.  IMR understands the investment philosophy that Portfolio Managers have been practicing and the over-arching belief of the investment organization for which the PM worked.

IMR will assess a PM’s ability to communicate complex concepts to management, prospects and clients.

  • IMR will understand if a potential PM relies on external research, if they employed a team of researchers, or if they conducted research themselves.
  • How was a PM’s investment discipline implemented?
  • Which universe of assets was used?
  • How did the PM decide what to buy/sell and when?
  • Who made the final decisions? Was a committee involved?
  • Is a performance record available? Whose performance record is being shown?
